Board member of women’s network Doen-Ja! In Delft. Followed two year training from Gemeente Delft: Stuurvrouwen project board member training. Founder of professional network for English-speaking women in Delft. Former member of Delft international women’s day planning committee at VrouwKindcentrum. Volunteer for Latin and Central American immigrant center in Atlanta, USA

Motivation

Helping women transition to motherhood in a foreign country where they may lack a network of family members and friends: a healthy, confident and informed mother can better take care of their families and their community preventing emergency medical and financial situations of foreign families who may be confused at different healthcare and social services systems. Encouraging learning Dutch language and meeting Dutch people to become active participants of life in Delft at the personal and professional levels. Bringing people together that would normally never get to meet but share similar situations to exchange experiences and philosophies. Help the city of Delft being even more pleasant for their international residents.

Special areas of interest in Delft MaMa

Devising event concepts such as multicultural baby festival, baby and toddler information fairs. Stimulating cooperation between Delft MaMa and partner organizations. Recruiting volunteers and doing PR.
